For many years I dreamed of becoming an artist.  I lost that dream for a very long time.  Then after a couple of years of personal coaching,, my dream was alive!  I attended a personal development weekend in Chicago  and sold greeting cards created from original paintings of Native Kentucky flowers.  The only problem, I sold the cards before I painted them.  Now, I was challenged to find the Native Kentucky flowers and create paintings.  After researching and traveling to Mammoth Cave National Park and other undisturbed areas, I found the flowers and started painting.  This was the beginning of my joyful journey in the world of art.

Acrylics are my medium of choice. since I learned a technique in Nashville, TN of layering paint and glaze.  Some of my paintings have as many as 40 layers.   When you touch these paintings, they feel like leather.  It gives a unique look and each painting is different.  Abstracts are intriguing, I'm always pulled in that direction, I could paint only abstracts.  Each person views an abstract in their own way.  I enjoy painting in bright colors with a touch of black.

Commissions can be challenging and enjoyable at the same time.  One of my repeat customers has really pushed me in a great way to develop some different techniques.  I have stretched to reach the challenge and learned new ways to achieve the expected painting.

Artists' Statement:  "What I love about creating a painting is that I start with a blank canvas and do what no one else can do.  I alone get to interpret my ideas, visions and dreams by letting my feelings flow on to the canvas.  To me, this is my ultimate passion.  It brings joy to my life."
